Hans Ole Vitus – Background
Hans Ole is the uncompromising founder of Vitus Audio and he’s ruthless in his pursuit of the best possible sound, nothing is allowed to interfere with the original sound of the recording – it’s all about music. Hans Ole spent more than 8 years developing the first amplifiers before he released them in 2003. Probably not a period the bank was too happy about, but this dedication is what defines Hans Ole as a person. From the very first hi-fi equipment he bought as a teenager, almost 25 years ago, Hans Ole was always tearing the products apart to improve their performance.
After just a few years working with his own hi-fi equipment, building his own speakers, burning of his amps and learning as much as possible about hi-fi equipment, Hans Ole began his studies to become an electronic engineer. Hans Ole spent all his spare time and money on building his own hi-fi products and modifying other manufactures equipment during his studies. After graduation back in 1990 Hans Ole worked for different electronic companies for several years, before joining Texas instruments in 1998 as Area Sales Manager for Denmark and Norway. His responsibility was covering not only technical sales, but just as important giving customers an in-depth technical understanding of the different solutions TI could provide, and on top of this – technical seminars and workshops.
The 6 years he spent at Texas Instruments gave Hans Ole a priceless deep technical knowledge and experience with making “leading edge technology” and communicating the pros and cons of different solutions. It’s these many years of working professionally with electronics, the lifelong interest in building hi-fi and Hans Ole’s dedication that enables Vitus Audio to make some of the best hi-fi products in the world.
Hans Ole’s passion for hi-fi is fuelled by his love for music, as a teenager he played drums in a rock’n roll band and mainly listened to the same type of music, before he turned his attention to karate. He was trained by the internationally acclaimed sensei Raffi Liven, and with his usual determination Hans Ole did well in both local and international tournaments. But since the establishment of Vitus Audio in 1995 Hans Ole has focussed all his spare time on developing the Brand and the first products. Over the years Hans Ole has mellowed a little, Rock’n roll and Karate has been replaced by any type of music on good quality recordings and perhaps even a glass of red wine on the couch.
Anders Grove – Background
Anders met Hans Ole 11 years ago in a hi-fi shop where they both spent quite a bit of their time, and soon they where discussing the design of magnestatic speakers, and building their own. Later in 2000 Anders helped Hans Ole making the design and logo for his first preamplifier, and after going to the CES exhibition in Las Vegas in 2004 and 2005 together, the two finally teamed up permanently.
Anders is the weird inventor type, he just have to tear everything apart, to examine and improve the thing, and this goes for hi-fi products, lamps, glasses and everything else he can get his hands on. He questions the physical and mechanical design of every single part of the hi-fi products, a process that has lead to some very strange experiences. Once Anders was measuring eggs in the supermarket, while people where starring disbelieving at him, before he finally constructed a speaker membranes of quail eggs. Anders is educated as dental technician and his father has a laboratory, where Anders has experimented with all kinds of different materials since his early teens.
His education and experiments in the laboratory has given Anders a unique physical knowledge, which enables Vitus Audio to make unique and unconventional solutions in their products. It was the same ability Anders used when he created some the world best hi-fi cables with his previous and highly recommended company Argento Audio (established in 1992). Besides his physical and mechanical interest, Anders also has a passion for design. He has always been very interested in modern furniture and he designs furniture and lamps. One of the key elements in Vitus Audio is that the design has to match the outstanding sound. Anders has been a great support in creating the timeless and elegant design for all Vitus Audio’s product inspired by modern Scandinavian design traditions.
When Anders is not experimenting, disassembling, designing or inventing, which he does must of the time, he likes to listen to music or play a round of golf. Anders likes a wide variety of music as long as the quality of the recording is good.
