Experience our products in the way we intend them to be heard.
Audio in it’s purest form
The Vitus Audio showroom is the place to hear our products in the way we feel they are best presented. Our ethos is to create audio equipment that transcends time. We eschew fads in favour of longevity and timelessness creating an experience that is “Forever Now”. It’s an investment in sound that will last a lifetime and a listening session in our showroom is all you’ll need to be convinced.
The original build
Construction of the original showroom started with a complete teardown of the room which took around two years. In this phase, we cleared out the space in its entirety, moving and, in some cases, completely removing walls, to create the perfect space.
All walls were reinforced and insulated with sound damping material and at this stage the electric wiring ring was installed. Several windows were also blocked and granite cladding – varying from 1/2″ to 1″ thick – incredibly heavy – was added to one wall in each room.
We installed a special acoustic ceiling throughout the showroom offering not only improved room acoustics but also an aesthetically pleasing finish to the space.
A home listening experience
We kept the damping and acoustic treatments in the room realistic. To us, it’s important that you experience Vitus Audio products in a way that you might experience them in your own living space.
The showroom was created based on painstaking calculations. After the build was completed, we had a full Rw acoustic measurement of the room undertaken including full waterfall measurements. Our calculations were proven by the results to be correct and no further adjustments were required.
The showroom opened in 2017 offering clients the opportunity to experience the best of the Vitus Audio ranges alongside products that, at the time, were distributed by our business Connaisseur-AV.
2020 – reconfiguration of the room
At the beginning of 2020, following the sale of Connaisseur-AV, we decided to reconfigure the room to focus purely on the Vitus Audio product ranges. And then COVID hit, delaying our reconfiguration for almost 2 years.
As of Q1 2022, this reconfiguration is still underway with an expected completion date later in 2022.
The new systems
The new layout comprises of three main systems which can be experienced in the 70m2 showroom;
System 1 is dedicated to our Masterpiece series. We are awaiting the HifiStay racks which not only look amazing, but also provide the perfect foundation for our Masterpiece products. Speakers and cables for this system are still under evaluation.
The non Vitus Audio sources connected to this system will include a Studer A80 reel-to-reel and a Dohmann Helix One Turntable with an Acoustical Systems Axiom Tonearm and Palladian cartridge.
Reference / Signature Series
This system is dedicated to showcasing our Reference and Signature series. We have chosen Hybrid Full Length racks with the Hybrid Isolation shelf kit with concrete tops made by Solid Tech from Sweden. These racks and stands provide the ideal foundation for our products and with the concrete shelves, they also fit perfectly into our “Forever Now” concept.
Cables are all Furutech NanoFlux which we have used for several years at the Munich High End show with fantastic results.
Speakers in this system include Rockport Technologies Avior I and Infinity IRS Beta (currently under renovation)
The non Vitus Audio sources in use are a Lyrec PTR-1 “Frida” reel-to-reel (Lyrec are a Danish manufacture of some of the best professional R2R’s from the distant past). A Rockport Technologies Capella Phonograph (vintage, but right up there with the best of the best). A Micro Seiki “The Reference” turntable including an RY-5500 II motor and Dynavector DV505 Tonearm – allegedly the “mother” of the TechDAS Air Force 1.
As a digital source we are using the Alluxity Media One pure digital media server.
The third system available for demonstration in the showroom will give you the opportunity to experience some of our other favourite products on the market from Alluxity, Estelon (including the incredible Estelon YB speakers) and more. Cables will be Furutech and racking is still to be confirmed.
Turntables on display
The showroom features a huge range of turntables from Hans-Ole Vitus’ private collection. These are available to preview through the systems in the showroom on rotation and specific turntables by request (and if available).
Micro Seiki Museum
Vitus Audio founder Hans-Ole Vitus has long been an avid turntable collector. In 2022 we will be installing all of the Micro Seiki turntables from his collection in the showroom. Every turntable is fully functional and each is an exceptional take on the science of turntable creation. They will be used from time to time in systems one and two above. We aim to complete installation of these in the first half of 2022.
