The streamer modules in Vitus Audio products support Wi-Fi dongles. These should be connected via the Wi-Fi USB-A connector on the back of the product.
Note the dongle has to have a specific chipset to work.
The chipset required is Mediatek’s RT5370 chipset for older models (RI-101 Mk.I, RD-101 Mk.I and SD-025 Mk.I, SIA-030), and RTL8811CU for newer models (RI-101 Mk.II, RD-101 Mk.II, SD-025 Mk.II).
If another Wi-Fi dongle without these chipsets are connected, it could damage the port or simply not work.
To use the included Wi-Fi dongle with any Vitus Audio product featuring a streaming module, follow these steps:
Initial Setup
A wired internet connection is required during setup but can be disconnected after configuring the Wi-Fi settings.
- Power Down: Turn off the product, wait 60 seconds, and disconnect it from power completely.
- Connect the Wi-Fi Dongle: Insert the dongle into the designated port on the rear panel of the product.
- Attach the Ethernet Cable: Connect an Ethernet cable to the product.
- Restore Power: Reconnect the power and turn the product on.
- Open the Mconnect App: Launch the app on your tablet or smartphone.
- Access Device Setup: Use the cogwheel icon in the app to navigate to Device Setup. Select the device you want to configure.
- Choose Wi-Fi Network: Go to WiFi Network Selection, select your Wi-Fi network, and enter its password.
- Verify Connection: Once connected, the Wi-Fi IP address will appear in the WiFi IP field under Device Setup.
- Remove the Ethernet Cable: After confirming the Wi-Fi IP address, turn off the product, disconnect the Ethernet cable, and restart it. The product will now automatically connect to the configured Wi-Fi network.
